  • Maintenance

To keep your garage door functioning smoothly:

Regular Cleaning: Clean the door annually with mild soap and water. This helps to remove dirt and grime, keeping the door looking its best.

Lubrication: Use a penetrating spray lubricant to coat all hinges, rollers, and springs annually. Do Not Use oil or grease as these can gum up over time, causing operational issues.

Spring Tension Check: Periodically disengage the door from the garage door opener and manually operate it. If the door feels hard to raise or lower manually, contact Moeller Door & Window to adjust the spring tension.

Weatherstripping Inspection: Inspect the seals around the door regularly. Replace any damaged or worn weatherstripping to maintain proper sealing and insulation.

Hardware Inspection: Check the hardware components, including screws, nuts, and bolts, for tightness. Tighten any loose fasteners to ensure the door's stability.

Safety Features Check: Ensure that the safety features of your garage door opener are functioning correctly. Test the photo sensors to make sure they are not obstructed and verify that the auto-reverse feature works by placing an object in the door's path.

Track Cleaning: Keep the door tracks clean from debris and dirt. Clean the tracks regularly to prevent obstructions that may affect smooth door operation.

Professional Inspection: Consider annually scheduling a preventative maintenance inspection of your garage door system. Experienced technicians can identify and address potential issues before they become major ones.

    2. Energy Efficiency: Seal gaps to improve insulation, reducing energy loss and potentially lowering heating and cooling costs.

    3. Noise Reduction: Minimize sound transmission, making the garage quieter when the door opens or closes.

  • Slabs

Steel Front Door vs. Fiberglass Front Door:

    Steel Front Door:

    - Durability: Strong and resistant to dents and scratches, though susceptible to rust if not properly maintained.

    - Maintenance Needs: Requires occasional painting to prevent rust and maintain appearance.

    - Energy Efficiency: Offers good insulation but can conduct heat and cold more than fiberglass.

    - Aesthetics: Typically comes with a smooth or wood grain texture, with a variety of color options.

    Fiberglass Front Door:

    - Durability: Highly durable, resistant to dents, scratches, and warping.

    - Maintenance Needs: Minimal maintenance required; usually only needs cleaning.

    - Energy Efficiency: Excellent insulation properties, helping to maintain consistent indoor temperatures.

    - Aesthetics: Available in smooth finish, as well as textures resembling oak, cherry, and fir wood grains, offering a natural look with various stain options.

In summary, steel doors are robust but require more maintenance, while fiberglass doors are durable with minimal upkeep needs. Both offer good energy efficiency and aesthetic versatility, with fiberglass providing a wider range of textures and finishes to mimic wood grains.
